Therapeutic Massage is relaxing, healing, balancing . .  Regular Therapeutic Massage with a skilled therapist  will bring immense benefits throughout your whole body. Source someone who is Trained & Experienced – often the referral of a trusted friend will point you in the right direction.

There are many different types of Therapeutic Massage – Sports, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Kahuna to name a few.  The majority work on simular principals of gentle expert movements applied throughout the body in sequence. Massage for healing has its origins in ancient wisdom and traditions found in most cultures.

A good Massage will benefit all areas of the recipients’ body, as well as assist with calming the mind and occasionally helping with release of emotional blocks. The list of common ailments helped by Professional Massage Therapies is very long. It includes circulation problems, edema,  muscular aches, fatigue, chronic pain, fibro myalgia,  muscle cramping, injury, cellulite & carpal tunnel syndrome.

In my personal clinical experience (over 20years) I have assisted clients ~
coping with stressful work conditions;
throughout pregnancy;
with various back conditions;
experiencing age-related symptoms such as arthritis;
many with chronic neck & shoulder pain;
and many others who maintain optimum health with a regular 1hour session.
During Therapeutic Massage the heartbeat is not increased, yet the movement of blood throughout the body is simular to doing physical exercise. Therefore both inner and outer health benefits can be equivalent to doing up to 3hours rigorous workout.

The ideal environment for receiving Therapeutic Massage is one away from loud noise and busy activities. The lighting would be soft, some natural airflow and the temperature will be mild, with gentle relaxing music playing in the background. And most importantly – the recipient/client  feels welcome, safe, comfortable and unhurried.

Other elements to look for when searching for a good Massage Therapist include – visible Credentials or Membership to Recognised Organisation;
asks for previous & current  health history;
focus throughout the massage is kept on the person receiving;
keeps distractions to absolute minimum;
maintain constant contact with body using balanced movements;
seeks feedback often to ensure comfort of recipient;
and keeps Silence as the Golden Rule unless client needs to talk.

There is something very healing and uplifting about getting out into nature – breathing deeply as you absorb the sights and sounds arround you.

It was a magnificient early morning on Currumbin Beach – the sky was clear, the ocean was very refreshing, and the sweet smell of salt was in the air as we walked amongst the incredible sculptures at the Swell Sculpture Festival 2009.

The Swell Exhibition opened on 11 September and has been attracting lots of interest from locals and visitors.
This unique collection of art pieces represents a massive creative talent - I feel very lucky to have free access to this event each year.

This Secret Life of the Unborn Child is put together from glimpses of awareness gained by clients in Rebirth/Breathwork Sessions; where the aim is to gradually heal the Birth Trauma locked deep inside our mind/body/soul.

There is so much room in here - I feel abundant & safe

Week 28 I have survived the 1st trimester of pregnancy. Although the pregnancy and my arrival was unexpected – my parents are welcoming to me and adjusting their lives to include me.

Week 30 I am felling quite playful and abundant in the womb – I have everything I need – lots of room to move – good nutrient supply via Mums blood stream – I hear Mum speaking to me tenderly and my Dad loves to put his hand on Mums tummy and feel me kicking from inside – life is wonderful and free and I am feeling loved ands wanted.

Week 36 Getting a bit squashed in here . . . not so much stretching room now . . . . am building up my muscle tone for breathing and moving . . . can hear music and sounds from outside world – yet am safe and secure – just the right temperature in here . . . all is great!

Week 40 I am ready to come out now . . . . I have released the special hormone that begins my birthing. My Mum has practiced her relaxation techniques and breathing, and although a bit apprehensive, she feels ready for this birthing process. My Dad is there to support us both . . . . A bit later I am inside the birth canal . . . Mum has had some discomfort but is coping reasonable OK . . . I am picking up on all the sounds Read the rest of this entry »

yaninayoga recently researched the ancient practice of reading hands . . . . .  This activity  can be traced back to 384BC, with links to Aristotle and Greek Gods. Many of us are aware of the signifigance of hands found in rock paintings of Aboriginal Australians and other early cultures. While archaeological discoveries accross the planet have found hands made of stone, wood and ivory by ancient civilizations.

The Catholic Church was responsible for forcing the Art of Palmistry to go underground. They branded the practice as ‘linked with the devil’ and murdered anyone who was found engaged in or interested in Hand Reading.

Many many books have played major roles in my life at different times. Books are my friends in times of struggle, a comfort when lost or confused, and a consistant method of growth and learning for me. I recently wrote two Book Reviews as a Guest Writer for SpiritualBookReviews.com

'The most important book I have'

'The most important book I have'

A Course in Miracles (ACM) is by far the most important book I currently have.

It contains 3 Books in 1 -
Text
Workbook
Manual

The Book Review shares some excerpts chosen at random from each section of ACM and is designed to give an impression of the powerful concepts covered in this publication.

A link to the website of the Thetford Foundation (who are the Australian  custodians of ACM) is also given for easy access to aquiring a copy.

The other Book Review is

for a publication called

 The Oracle Within.

Within the pages of this useful book lies the guidance and wisdom of many respected Teachers, Authors and Thinkers.

Designed to be used in times of confusion and hopelessness, this book can help bring clarity and purpose back to the reader.

Each of these publications have been huge favourites of mine for many years.
I have gifted copies to both family and friends, and enjoy sharing their unique qualities with all readers.

So far we have explored lots of simple yet effective ways to Breathe into Life – practice of any one of these Breathing Techniques will bring Positive Results.

Now we are ready to taste the most Powerful Breathing Technique I know – Conscious Connected Breathing (CCB). When CCB is combined with the Principal Truth – All Thought is CreativeWe have the Ultimate Healing Therapy on this Planet – Rebirthing – most recently called Breathwork.

At birth we have our first experiences separate form mother.

At birth we have our first experiences separate form mother.

The term Rebirthing came from the fact that during this Breathwork Therapy a client will access and heal aspects of their individual Birth Experience – which for most of us was VERY Traumatic. It was at Birth where we took our First Breath. And it was at Birth where our Breath was Read the rest of this entry »

Meditation /Relaxation is aides by our Breath.

Meditation /Relaxation is aided by Awareness of Breathing Techniques.

How we are Breathing plays a major role in our ability to Relax, Meditate and Heal Stress related Symptoms in our body.

Although our Breathing is an involuntary, automatic and self-regulating function of our nervous system; we do have the ability to consciously alter our breath. It takes no conscious effort on our part for our breathing to keep us alive. Yet if we choose we can stop our Breath for a short time, speed it up or slow it down. This is not possible with our other involuntary functions like digestion and circulation. Our individual Breathing mechanism is VERY unique and powerful.

Parts of the body involved in taking a Breath include the Nose, Lungs, Pharynx, Trachea, Diaphragm, Bronchi and Ribcage. While the muscles of the chest control our Breathing Movements, it is the Nose that regulates the temperature and filters the air before it gets into the lungs. We move approximately 8,640 litres of air in and out of our lungs everyday (41/2 times more than we eat or drink). The air contains oxygen which is delivered to the cells, where it is consumed and generates power. Each time we inhale and exhale we take in 10,000,000,000,000,000,000, (10 to the power of 22) atoms.
